Darwin's God Institutes Stricter Comment Guidelines
Up until now the only guideline on comments in this blog has been no foul language. The new guidelines adds no disrespectful language. For example, personal attacks and derision (e.g., "LOL," "HAHA") are now not allowed.
Cornelius, Ifind the constant quote-mining and misrepresentation of actual scientific work that is constantly posted here to be extremely disrespectful.
Will you now stop insulting the integrity of honest scientists everywhere with your baseless accusations of incompetence and/or willful fraud?
In my experience, when "respect" is the relevant criterion one side tends to get hit a lot harder than the other. You telling me that I'm wrong is a simple statement of fact. Me telling you that you're wrong is an insult. Here's hoping that CH doesn't fall into that trap.
As a lurker who generally agrees with the above guidelines, I would strongly propose an addition which would help carry along discussions instead of stagnate them:
Take ample care in focusing on the current discussion and refrain from constantly halting discussions by posting endless streams of largely unrelated links and quotes.
Cornelius, to obey your new rules, you and your little IDiot gang are going to have to stop deriding evolutionists, Darwinists, materialists, scientists, atheists, and everyone else you oppose, which means you will have to shut down this site since that's ALL you do here.
I hope it makes for a more civil conversation.
ReplyDeleteA good call.
ReplyDeleteThis should be interesting
ReplyDeleteReading Thorton and Louis and others attack each other was pretty funny and entertaining, but I think this is for the best.
ReplyDeleteI guess the fun stops here and now. Bummer.

There you go again. Let's see if Hunter is serious about the new guidelines.
DeleteGood news.

ReplyDeleteThis blog is the most fair of what I've seen in the blog world.

Nice to see you are still around.
Check out the APOD picture of the day for the 25th!
DeleteCan Darwin's God also proscribe the silly mantra "Religion drives science, and it matters?"
ReplyDeleteThanks Eugen. I've been on holiday. :)

I like BA's links. I like to watch him constantly hound Nick about non local reality. Don't take this away from me.
DeleteSorry Louis, I should never have posted that clip of Vizzini laughing. It's all my fault :D
ReplyDeleteI thought that clip was hilarious. A good sense of humor is essential to these "discussions", IMO.
DeleteWell, OK, but I have SO enjoyed poking fun at the naysayers.

ReplyDeleteYou don't want to be a hypocrite, do you?
