This is true, however, they are both the same, as shown in "The Scientific Worldview" (www.thescientificworldview.com).

Glenn BorchardtGlenn Borchardthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09394474754821945146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3855268335402896473.post-12463566919049604632010-02-12T10:45:16.821-08:002010-02-12T10:45:16.821-08:00Cornelius did something very similar on Feb 8: htt...Cornelius did something very similar on Feb 8: http://darwins-god.blogspot.com/2010/02/important-new-paper-on-evolutionary.html

I personally don't find these kinds of rhetorical tricks very effective (it's a lazy way of arguing) - and as Ritchie has pointed out, it's a very questionable practice (I know many a professor would slam their students for such a practice).TrevorDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06650660580820963962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3855268335402896473.post-86821756939740390942010-02-12T08:22:35.916-08:002010-02-12T08:22:35.916-08:00WTF?!?!
What on Earth are you doing?!?!
The quot...WTF?!?!

What on Earth are you doing?!?!

The quote you have printed is (almost) replicated at the very link you provide - EXCEPT YOU HAVE SUBSTITUTED THE WORDS 'CREATIONISM AND INTELLIGENT DESIGN' FOR THE WORD 'EVOLUTION'!!

Michael Reiss's position is that Creationism should be dealt with head on and tackled, rather than brushed under the carpet. If you tell someone their ideas are 'just silly' then they may well still hang on to them. He thinks we should point out to students exactly WHY Creationism and ID are unscientific.

So why have you simply altered the words 'creationism and intelligent design' for the word 'evolution'? Perhaps you are going to say this is a piece of satire, and that I'm just not getting it?

I call that a thoroughly despicable tactic! Gross misrepresentation tantamount to lying. You know very well that a lot of people will simply read your OP and, if they want to accept it, then they simply will. A lot of people may simply have taken your OP at face value.

Nor is your post obviously satirical. Reading it, I would see no reason to doubt Reiss would say this as you presented it (assuming I did not know of Reiss by reputation).

Can you defend what you have done here? If not, you should be ashamed!Ritchiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03494987782757049380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3855268335402896473.post-66037383851399276162010-02-12T08:21:51.031-08:002010-02-12T08:21:51.031-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Ritchiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03494987782757049380noreply@blogger.com
